End of winter blahs

Are you feeling it too? Those end of winter blahs? Where nothing tastes good, little is exciting, the many things you love to do are an effort,  you’re tired of heavy clothes, just…bleh. Michelle over at Scribbit touched on it yesterday, but I figure it’s because she’s in Alaska at the end of a long (and I mean long) winter. I can’t even use that excuse, we never really got a winter here. The whole season was one big “wait for it…” It’s been in the 70s the last few days, and we’re going to be flirting with 80 tomorrow…right before a possible snow storm on Monday. The Colorado Swing Dance!

I think part of it, for me, is that I’m into week two of this “suck the life from Jen” virus. Just as the weather started to improve, I feel like death. Just as I would usually want to jump into spring house purging, I’m hacking up a lung.

I.Just.Don’t.Care.About.Anything.Today.

(Gah. Even this post sucks.)

But…motivation follows action, so today I’m going to do something. There’s nothing on the calendar, so there’s no place to be, nothing really do to. There’s certainly enough around here to do. A’s room…oh holy hell…I should charge admission so y’all feel better about your kids’ rooms. Methinks I’ll take a picture before we go up there with a garbage bag and a blowtorch.

I know! I need Extreme Makeover: Lifestyle Edition! My house, my activities, my wardrobe, my blog, my computer, my stresses…I’d like everything to have a makeover. Unfortunately, if it’s to be, it’s up to me. Motivation follows action, so I’d better get going.

  1. Sounds like me this weekend, minus the virus from hell. I’m tired, draggy, achey and utterly off my game.

We did manage to complete the Great Purge of 2009, but not a hell of a lot else. I even blew off the gym because my body felt so worn out.

Oh, and yesterday was cold and blustery. We did get a bit of sun today but now it’s cold again tonight and supposed to storm again tomorrow. Feh!

  2. Oh, I’m feeling it too. The weather is quite spring like here, and you almost hate to hope that winter is over for us, because too often we’ve had a foot (or more) of snow dumped on us somewhere in March and we haven’t had it yet.

My main symptom is that I have the urge to purge all the junk out of my house. Can’t take the clutter anymore….

Whaddya think?
