I’m a sex goddess, how about you?

When I was in college, I was in a woodwind trio. Flute, clarinet, bassoon. An unusual combination, but enough literature to make it fun. Our advisor was the clarinet professor, truly one of the coolest guys I’ve known. And one hell of a clarinet player, wow. So he asks me and these two other gals if we wanted to do the trio and we all agreed. Truly, I was the squarest of the bunch (and still am, in many ways, in many groups. LOL). The bassoonist was a free spirit, the clarinetist never shaved her legs (until a friend of hers shaved profanity into the hair, then she gave in, poor girl.). I was the good little girl, the flutist, the (ahem) innocent. The time came when we had to come up with a name for our little group. Ideas were bandied about, and “The Sex Goddesses” was chosen. The advisor loved it, administration didn’t care (times change, don’t think we could get away with this now)…hey, this was the same music department in which a brass quintet played an arrangement of Monty Python’s “Sit on my face and tell me that you love me”, with the title translated into French. Made it ok then. LOL So who came up with that name? Yup, yours truly. The innocent, the good little girl, the flutist.

“And one time, at band camp…”
