The reports of my demise are greatly exaggerated

Why is it, when you try to do something that is going to make your life easier, it ends up sucking your very life source dry? I have been trying to install a new modem and wireless router for my laptop since last Thursday and it’s still not working. I’ve spent probably 12 hours on the phone with tech support. Monday, I was diagnosed with strep (ahh, the joys of kids…at least they know how to share, they’re both sick too), and was on tech support for 4 hours with a fever and chills. Sometimes I can get online, sometimes no. Sometimes I can download my email, sometimes no. I can’t send email. I’m going nuts. I’m a stay at home mom; the internet and the connections I have “out there” keep me sane. It’s my link to the outside world, folks! So I’m hoping my new ISP will send someone out here to install this all for me. I’m sick of tech support, I’m sick of all this, I just want it to work. Now, I’m back off to install more updates for my operating system, hope it works, and call tech support to beg for more help. I’ll be back soon; I have several posts percolating in my head right now.
