‘Twas the night before the day before Thanksgiving

Let’s make the list and check it twice…

  • Parents from the airport…check
  • Groceries purchased and put away…check
  • House cleaned…bwahahahahahaha….no
  • Turkey picked up…on the schedule for tomorrow
  • Food prepped ahead of time…on the schedule for tomorrow
  • DaveCo hit up for wine and assorted booze for a Manhattan-off with my parents’ recipe vs Melissa’s…on the schedule for tomorrow
  • Deliver the remainder of Cub Scout popcorn….ugh, I don’ wanna
  • Listen to the boys bicker until my ears bleed…check and check and OMFG check
  • Meet friends for sushi and sake to buck up for the long holiday weekend…t-minus 90 minutes and counting

I’m not really ready for Thanksgiving, but that’s ok. My parents are here, and we’re all so laid back. There will be food, there will be drink, and there will be memories. Life’s good.

It’s great that you and your family have such a laid back attitude. All that really matters is that you’re all together. I could be perfectly happy eating pb&j for Thanksgiving, as long as the ones I love are around me.

Exactly! I wish we could be together more often, but we sure make the time we have together count!
