I got nuttin’.

Fifteen days into NaBlo and it’s like a drought around here. Fifteen days to go.

I have no lack of words, just lack of time and concentration and peace.

So, before I go all desperate and climb on top of a meme, I’m opening it up to questions from the peanut gallery.

What have you always wanted to ask me? What topic(s) would you like to see me cover? What should I do with my little piece of the internets here? Throw it at me.

‘Cause I feel like I’m talking to a big echoey room, and I’m only halfway.

I’m a new reader from Ecuador and still getting caught up on your first entries (I’m back in 2006). I have a two year old son who has been intense since the day he was born, so I’d love to hear more about your first son’s early years (your second sounded easy-going as a baby which my son has definitely not been). I can’t even imagine having two, bravo for you. I have desperately needed the laughs your blog has given me at times, so thank you.

  2. 1. Why do you think you “should” be participating in a daily writing task when you seem to have so little time?
    2. Why do I enjoy reading about your “nuttin'”?
    3. Do I have my quote marks and question mark correct in #2?
    4. Will my spell check program find poor grammar for me?

  3. Well, you are doing better than I am: I started blog month with you, but on the DL, then I went away for the weekend and my computer tried to fry itself, and well, yeah. AND I got much farther with Blog month than I did with Nanowrimo this year, despite kicking its heiny for three years running. (It got some steal toed boots this year, and took REVENGE.)

I hear you about wanting ideas though, so here are a few things I’d love to know: which E did you id in your kiddo first? What is your favorite piece of music to listen to? To play? Could you tell us some about what playing your flute used to be/is like for you? What do you like to read? I love to vicariously browse shelves – what might one find on yours? if you had a whole day to yourself, how would you spend it?

In all honesty, our lives are just as chaotic as yours: give us something to distract us from ours, and we’ll keep showing up. 🙂

I’d like to know the answers to these questions:
    – Do you ever feel like you’re over-explaining your child’s giftedness to the point that you’re mad at yourself afterwards for overtalking? (Like I do when I try to explain away why he doesn’t want to play sports even though he is built to be soooo good at them, like his Dad was, and how I’m OK with it, but don’t sound that way when I get into this convesation with moms with sportster kids …)
    – What is your ideal world for parents of gifted kids … what do you wish existed that doesn’t on a national, regional and even local basis?
    – Do you sometimes feel like you know more about the gifted mind than not only schools (who should know better) but also psychologists or other professionals? Why is that the case? Shouldn’t these people know more? And what are those of us stuck in cities without any professionals specializing in gifted kids supposed to do besides learning by trial and error?

Just my random thoughts for the day … 🙂

Whaddya think?
